The Roadie – Waiting For Katie

The #Roadie gets comfy waiting for @KatyPerry to finish her show @BridgestoneArena in #Nashville

Ann and I went to the Nasvhille Symphony last Friday night to see the ‘live’ performance of the score for the movie “Fantasia*.”

That’s what the old people were doing that night. The youngsters – and I mean, mostly, the real youngsters, like kids under 12 – were on their way to see Katy Perry at the Bridgestone Arena.

Outside the arena there were five (Ann says six) top-of-the-line deluxe Prevost tour buses. As we walked by I noticed this one roadie sitting in the luggage compartment under the bus. I had my Olympus E-M5 hanging from my right shoulder and fired four or five random shots as we walked by. This was the best of the bunch.

Not bad for literally “shot from the hip.”

*Actually, it was “Fantasia 2000 – a remake of the 1940 movie, which sorta remember seeing when I was a kid (which would have been in the 1950s). At least, I remember “The Sorcerers Apprentice – but that was the only segment of this remake that was held over from the original. That would explain why I kept thinking to myself… “I don’t remember that…’ The new segment based on Stravinsky’s “Firebird Suite” was pretty cool, but after all the dancing hippopotami and flying whales I rather missed the original finale, “Night on Bald Mountain.”
